9; Food Corporation of India having its Corporate Office at Khadya Sadan, 16-20, Barakhamba Lane, New Delhi : 110 001. Under this, there are five Zonal Offices known as Zonal Office (N), Zonal Office (S), Zonal Office (W), Zonal Office (E) and Zonal Office (NE).

9; Food Corporation of India, West Zone was set-up on 1st March 1969.

9; The West Zone comprises of 5 States – ( Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh ) i.e. 4 Regions of FCI, viz Maharashtra including Goa, Gujarat including Union Territory of Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Aims of Food Corporation of India

  • Monitoring of Quality in all major transactions, processes leading to improved customer satisfaction level

  • Accountability for efficiency, responsiveness, performance and minimization of all losses & Wastes

  • Need based up gradation of infrastructure and work environment

  • Need based enhancement of available knowledge & skills.

  • Transparency in decision making, effective communication leading to harmonious employee relations

  • Establishing, maintaining and improving ISO 9001:2000 based Quality Management Systems covering all areas of activity.

  • To provide farmers remunerative prices

  • To make food grains available at reasonable prices, particularly to vulnerable section of the society

  • To maintain buffer stocks as measure of Food Security

  • To intervene in market for price stabilization

    FCI, as the country’s nodal organization for implementing the National Food Policy, is committed to provide credible, customer focused services, for efficient and effective food security management in the West Zone.  Our focus shall be:
